He is still very shy with strangers, but warmed up to his people quickly. He is a typical "velcro dog" that loves to follow his person around the house. He likes to snuggle up with his person on the sofa during the day and in bed at night. He sleeps soundly. He is comfortable lounging on sofas, human beds, and the occasional dog bed. He is sad to see his person leave for work and is ecstatic when she returns, and yet is a perfect house dog while he is alone with his canine housemates. In the house he is polite, doesn't chew or make messes of any kind. He hasn't had a single accident in the house since his arrival! He is happy to potty in the yard and on his walks. He is still on guard when it comes to loud noises and fast movements. On walks he wears a harness so it is easier to control him when he is frightened, and when he tries to chase squirrels. Apollo has gotten used to the sights and sounds associated with open windows, but still needs to get used to walking past neighborhood hazards such as lawn mowers and construction crews. Apollo enjoys taking treats from just about anyone's hand and is an enthusiastic eater. He will gladly sit for treats! He is happy running around in the yard with his friends, and because he plays so enthusiastically, they all wear their muzzles to avoid accidental injury. Apollo is such a fun canine companion! He will be so happy to live with a family that is willing to take the time to work with him to overcome his fears. He is not a very demanding dog and would be easy to take care of for a single person. He has not had much experience with children yet but I think he would be fine with any family members that aren't too rambunctious in the house. At this point he should only be walked by strong adults.
